Utility Location Services

What is utility location?

Utility location is the process of locating underground utility lines before digging for a construction project begins.

Utility location is an essential step in ensuring that your project remains on track and on budget but also that your team members are safe. Because ground conditions can change quickly, it is best to rely on a current read as opposed to past records.

Methods/ means involved in the utility location process include:

  • Concrete imaging
  • Ground penetrating radar
  • GPS Documentation
  • Video Inspection

In today’s construction and sub-surface environment, things change so fast that you never know what surprises are waiting for you on the job site. That’s where CorBuilt’s Utility Locating services comes in. When it comes to complex utility layouts or non-traceable utilities, you need something more than those 25 year + as-built maps. CorBuilt uses the latest technology in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Induction (EMI), and various other tools for several applications in the environmental investigation and construction services field. We use this combination of GPR, EMI, and others to facilitate speed, accuracy, and verification of the information obtained.

CorBuilt employs the use of state-of-the-art utility locating technology from Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc., Radiodection, and Trojan CCTV Camera Systems.
